UK-Cruiser-Notts Posted February 5, 2021 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2021 Have Marella made any announcements about if you can get off the ship only on ship booked excursions like other cruise companies and will this affect the Caribbean for 2021/22 bookings
marylizcat Posted February 6, 2021 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2021 I haven’t heard any such announcements. However it is far too early to know what the arrangements will be next winter. A lot will depend on each country’s own requirements for visiting cruise ships. Obviously you should be prepared for that to be the rule, but it may not be. Rare dronnygirl Posted February 6, 2021 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2021 I've just been reading the new rules from Carnival Group and they are advising everyone must have a test within 5 days of boarding and wear facemasks with 3 layers at all times except in the cabin or when eating. No leaving the ship except on organised excursions! We love to travel independently so this would be too restrictive for us and the cost of excursions would add up. I really don't know how long it will be before we can cruise like we did before but these rules really don't appeal to us.

Extremely pleased and privileged to have experienced it but feel, for us, it will never return. Perhaps the next generation will get used to it, not having experienced the great times.
