Diamond Plus discount on drink package

I no longer see any mention on the Royal website of a discount on the drink package for D+ members. If I remember correctly the deal was buy one, get half off the 2nd.

 

I do see a 30% off the package in cruise planner. Am I better off buying ahead of time?

If I remember correctly, it was usually cheaper to buy through the Cruise Planner at 30% off, than waiting t buy it on the ship with the D+ discount, because the ship price daily rate was higher.

Buy one, get one half price is basically 25% off each.  30% is better.

It was 30% off the somewhat fixed on board price, but only on board. The pre cruise price could be any % off some made up non fixed price.

I read that D+ will get 5 drinks under $13 at ANY time of day at any bar.  It might be cheaper to just charge a few more drinks a day than getting the package?  I don't think I could drink 5 a day but just a thought?  Each ship will do something different anyway.  Charge the cheapie drinks and get the 5 more expensive drinks for free?
