COVID updates for Greece

We are still hoping for an October visit.  Fingers crossed.

The covid situation keeps changing.  So glad we decided not to by direct air until a week or prior to our anticipated departure.  Even then, things can change in a few days.

Wishing you luck!   Not sure this year is in the cards,  not even  sure about next.

I’m wondering on how you’ll fly direct?   The UK now requires Canadians quarantine.

Toronto (or Montreal)-Athens on AC (Transat not flying there yet). Then we plan to fly to either Milos or Naxas and start from there.

Changing planes in the the UK or the US is not even a consideration for us.

Any updates on heat and smoke in Athens? We are heading there in a little over a week. Planning on rolling with whatever is going on.

It seems like the heat wave has finally broken.  Yesterday it was only in the 90s in Athens and our forecast today for Patmos is in the 80s.  As to smoke in Athens it seemed to come and go depending on the then current winds.  But at times it has been Smokey and you will sometimes see some ashes.

Glad to hear it.  We arrive this weekend and will post updates.

Thanks for the updates—keep them coming.  Glad the heatwave has broken and hope conditions  continue to improve as we depart on Ovation on September 4th.  Given the increasing virus cases in the US,  I’m ready to be on a ship where everyone is vaccinated and things seem to be mostly normal.  Fingers crossed that things don’t worsen in Greece, which would prevent us from sailing,
