cruisingaussies Posted August 30, 2021 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2021 Does anyone have information on good suites and those to avoid in category V2? Many thanks
Flamin_June Posted August 30, 2021 #2 Share Posted August 30, 2021 They are all good, one of our favourite decks. Seriously, never had a bad one. Those nearer the bow may have a little more movement, and, obviously, avoid any adjoining suites (can't remember if there are any V2s). Don't worry if you are near the elevators, noise is not a problem, and in fact location can be quite handy.
sunshineocean13 Posted August 30, 2021 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2021 V2 on Sojourn was the forward area of deck 5, but it has changed in the newer V1-V4 plan. We've liked the forward section of deck 6, which now looks like it's V2 (used to be V3). We had 610 on the 2020 World Cruise on Sojourn, and loved it. cruisingaussies Posted August 31, 2021 Author #4 Share Posted August 31, 2021 Thanks so much for the comments, they're very helpful. We're looking at 710, under the new configuration for a July 2022 cruise.
Flamin_June Posted August 31, 2021 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2021 Sorry, didn't know they had changed configuration. They kept that quiet.... Just had a look on the website. Well, I was talking about the deck 5 suites from 521 to 536. Can't give a factual opinion on the new config and your 710 suite - we have never been in any in that section, 720 the closest and that was fine. Generally there are very few 'bad' suites, and even then, their goodness or badness largely a matter of opinion. Only thing might be an issue with motion, as near to the bow. Some folk are wary of 733 to 738 because of noise from chairs being put out on the pool deck early morning. We liked 521-536 because they were handy for the club and laundrette, I like being lower down and closer to the sea, and often the gangway is located on deck 5. 747 and 748 are favourites too, so handy for Seabourn Square and coffee. We have been longing to get back on board, and looking at a few options for next year and later. Will have to go back now to reconsider in the light of new configuration....grrrr! tv24 Posted September 1, 2021 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2021 IMHO all of the Verandah suites are pretty much the same. You might have a slight preference regarding how far forward you are, or which deck. We like Deck 7 for access to Seabourn Square, but the ship is so small that one can get to the Square quickly from any deck.
cruisingaussies Posted September 2, 2021 Author #7 Share Posted September 2, 2021 Thanks again for your comments. We avoid suites that are too far forward on lower decks, the sound of the anchor grinding down at 5 am or thereabouts is rather too early for us! We were on deck 7 on the Encore and as you say tv24, very handy to Seabourn Square. Suite 710 looks just fine and we've just about decided to book, even though we're still locked up in Fortress Australia. Our Government is talking about 'freedom' once 80% of the population is doubled jabbed, which may be the end of this year. If we're not allowed international travel by early next year I think there'll be a revolt. At least our TA and Seabourn have said we'll get a full refund if we cancel up to a month before the final balance date, if it's because of Covid. With this cruise in July 2022, I would hope we'll be able to travel to Europe by then. Any Aussies reading this who can recommend a travel insurance for over 75's? We'll need to get some kind of insurance once we pay the 25% deposit, in case we need to cancel for a reason other than Covid.
brittany12 Posted September 7, 2021 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2021 Yes they did keep that not so subtle price escalation quiet. Those 530 suites used to be great. Who cares about the partial glass and steel balcony railings.
mcondition Posted September 10, 2021 #9 Share Posted September 10, 2021 I also find 7th floor the best in seabourn ships.
