Cash accepted in ports?

We will be stopping at St Kitts, St Maarten, San Juan, and amber cove.  Do these ports accept cash?   we don't  use Credit Cards and not using my personal debit if I can avoid it on islands.  How about buying a generic visa or Mastercard? Do they accept those?

I have only ever used cash at ports.  I have never bought anything expensive like jewelry or items that cost more than I would typically carry around.  I also don't think I would trust using a credit card in ports.

They all accept cash.  Those ports also give change in US dollars.  Also, if they accept Visa and/or MasterCard, they accept the generic, pre-paid cards.  The only card I had a hard time with was the pre-paid American Express — for some reason, not a lot of merchants accept AmEx.

San Juan is of course America, so all is good there.

 

All ports take cash, but some people are picky about the condition of the bills. I had a $50 with a tear in it. They seemed spooked by it, so I just gave them another bill.

They all like cash. Wouldn't use any personal credit or debit cards.

Yes they wont say no to your American dollars.

No issue with cash. Though, I would bring small bills to limit the amount of change you need to get back.
