Hadacareer Posted September 19, 2021 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2021 Has anyone encountered this? We have air booked with ncl orlando to Rome and miami (ft lauderdale to Orlando in December, but now are being told we may not be able to get off in Miami as we will be short the 14 day rule the US has imposed..https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/canada-travel-restrictions-biden-senators-1.6180738?fbclid=IwAR3jolRfqhEzpCghtATTcjadc8jDiYhAActN-qUIVFU28v0_ADb3Yajg9sY
Middleager Posted September 19, 2021 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2021 Canadians can fly to US cities, but cannot drive across the border. For cruiseships, it'd be tough to not let Canadians and Europeans to disembark US ports. That'd basically stop many from taking the transatlantic cruises. I was choosing between the Epic Nov, 20, and the Getaway Dec. 5, transatlantic. Yesterday just cancelled Epic, so we're aiming to take the Getaway Dec. 5 TA cruise. If US won't allow us in, we'll have to cancel.

Middleager Posted September 22, 2021 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2021 It looks like non-US citizens are still not allowed to cruise into (disembark) US ports. The opening to international passengers is only for flights, for fully vaccinated. For the 2021.12.5 Getaway TA cruise, we are now inside the 75 day, so cannot change anything with air, or deviation. The 60day final payment deadline is fast approaching. If US won't allow us in, we'd have to cancel that too.
Rare eileeshb Posted September 23, 2021 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2021 The rule against EU tourists travelling to the USA is going away in November as long as you are fully vaccinated. the news broke a couple of days ago in Ireland.

Link/confirmation? So far the news seem to apply only to those arriving by planes. Not sure about cruise passengers.
Middleager Posted September 24, 2021 #7 Share Posted September 24, 2021 NCL has Epic 2021.11.20 arriving NY 2021.12.5, and Getaway 2021.12.5 arriving Miami 2021.12.22. If US changes rules to allow (fully vaccinated) non-US passengers in by Dec. 5, that'll allow these two ships in. If not, many people will have to cancel.
