Not likely to come across the problem again.    I used to get the VIP perk for something I have arranged in the past.   That perk is NO LONGER offered!!

I had the same experience as you once in the past as well.  My husband and I still laugh at it.

 

I too had heard that the perk is gone, which is sad, but won't change things for me.

A quick Google search shows the card headings as:

Orange (sea snail): "Welcome to Norwegian"

Teal (sand dollar): "Welcome Back to Norwegian"

Purple (seashell): "Welcome to the Good Life"

Gold (starfish): "Welcome to Your Sanctuary - The Haven"

 

So it seem like they're intended for: 1st time, 2nd+ time, suite & Haven respectively.

On our cruise last week, NCL was using purple cards for Mini Suites on the Escape. This is new. Was not stated that way on our April cruise. It is now the first perk listed on the NCL web site.
