Ever heard of drink package for the day?

Hi,

Someone who has taken several Carnival cruises to the Mexican Riviera told me that in past sailings that some of their group have bought the drink package "just for the day" whenever they had a sea day.

I've never heard of this...but I also haven't done the Mexican Riviera before.

I've seen it discounted mid cruise, but never offered "for the day".

Anyone ever experience this?

@llarsen Check your VIFP offers/Today's Deals. Carnival has been giving a lot of Cheers discounts with the RU1 and RU2 codes. I just booked Horizon for Dec. 26 and got a free cabin on a casino offer. It was cheaper to book a second cabin for the third guest, booked DW solo with Cheers, no single supplement. Cheers was $75 for 5 days and the fare dropped $50 by the time I finally booked. Those drinks will be less than a dollar each!

Did they maybe do an excursion with a drink package during that? That’s the only day packages I’m aware of and they’re not offered by the ships. People generally make reservations with all inclusive places.

That's a great answer. Nacho Cocum in Cozumel is everything you'd want in a perfect beach day: drinks, lunch, pool, and oceanfront palapa with loungers. All inclusive with open bar. I'd imagine they have the same type of days on the Mexican Riviera side, too.

To be honest, I think they are mistaken.

Or maybe it was the end of the cruise and were offered the package for the few remaining days?

Mondello, thank you for the discount offers info, I will check it out.
