cruisin from florida Posted October 10, 2021 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2021 We're booking a family cruise for December 2022. Four cabins, 11 people total. Deposit is $100pp. For whatever reason, two of the cabins have pricing that includes a refundable deposit. The other two cabins which will hold two families and a total of seven people, do not. I am trying to decide whether to pay an extra $200 so that the $700 deposits on those cabins would be refundable. This cruise is outside the cruise with confidence window, so if we change anything we would lose the deposits. But paying $200 to insure $700 seems pretty steep to me. What are your thoughts on this? It makes no sense to split deposits that way, you either do all or none. BTW, you don’t lose all of your deposit if you cancel, only $100pp.
Rare brillohead Posted October 11, 2021 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2021 Have you tried checking with a travel agent to see if they have group pricing available on that sailing? Group pricing is refundable up until Final Payment, without having to pay the higher Refundable Fare pricing.
