Does anyone know the location of the new ship,Viking  Mars? I know she has been floated out, but wonder where she is now located.  We are schedules to sail on her June 2022.  Thanks!

Her Bridge equipment will not yet be commissioned, so the AIS is not yet providing a signal for the ship trackers to pick her up.

However, she should be alongside the fitting out berth at Ancona.

I believe her first cruise is out of Barcelona on 28 May 2022, so probably heading out on trials around March/April.

Seems she is currently at the shipyard in Ancona (east coast of Italy). She was floated out in July.

Thanks!  The reason I am asking, the website, “My Ship Tracking.com” shows her in Buetzfelth (Butzfleth?), Germany, but doesn’t appear on webcam. Just curious.

Wanna bet that the AIS tracker is sitting in Germany awaiting installation on the ship -- and broadcasting (or broadcast a few times in a test)?

That was also my assumption, testing before being shipped to the S/Y, especially as the signal was dated 27/9/21

Thanks! Sounds like the correct answer to me (I know nothing about how a ship is built, so appreciate your knowledge)….now I just wait until it starts “moving”.😀

Not my knowledge; Heidi13 is the one who knows ship. I just listen to him.

Don't forget to check in the Viking Media Center for updates (link in the footer of every page on the website).
