Good travel book on French Polynesia recommendation needed

Hi fellow travelers! We are excited about our Oceania Cruise  departing Tahiti in 2023. I was going to buy a travel book for a Christmas gift for my travel companions. Does anyone have any favorite they would recommend?

A book by Jan Prince is a good one but remember everything changes quickly in FP  .... what may be true today can be very different a year or two in the future.

Thank you. The publish date of most of the guides ( this included) does have me concerned as to how much information is still valid but if you think the principle descriptions of the islands and sights to see are well done in this book then that could be a good read.

I'm sure the sights to not miss are still accurate 😉

Not a travel book but a must read before or during the cruise is Michener’s “Tales of the South Pacific.”
