We arrived back at port. My friend went back to the ship whilst I went walkabout. I have a tendency to follow my meet. Started off by following Google maps to a favourite shop where a purchase in the sale was mandatory.

Then took myself to the Cathedral. Wow. Entry included to the bell tower so I had to get my money's worth and climb up. Oy! Well worth it though. Ramp as opposed to steps except for the last turn. View was spectacular. Nowhere to sit though. A bell rings every 15 minutes.... that's *LOUD*!

New plate of fresh fruit in the room. While I was ashore they were showing the film 'Venom : Let there be carnage' in the Playhouse.

LFT tomorrow which is a sea day in preparation for Lanzarote.

Guest survey completed.

Thanks for following.

Did you get an answer for this Linda?

I saw your post on FB asking the same thing but I don't have Marinetraffic on my phone since they made some changes years ago...

Not definitive no. That website still had us in Cádiz!

LFT negative.

The decor on the ship is very subtle. Your eye isn't distracted, stair cases have harmonising art. Gentle warmth.

Went to the ship's company production show. I'm incredibly fussy when it comes to this sort of thing and seat myself at the end of an aisle in the event I need to make a quick get away.

They were really quite good!! Stayed for the whole thing. At least the dancers could dance and the singers projected well and sometimes danced too. Multiple costume changes. 4 piece band. Excellent stage. Lots of glitter and feathers. Bravo!

Tomorrow I had originally booked an excursion up a volcano which included a BBQ. This was cancelled by Saga so am going on the included one as advertised below. There's a free shuttle at the port into town so hopefully will avail myself of that later.

ARRECIFE, LANZAROTE - 26TH JAN

SCENIC LANZAROTE - INCLUDED EXCURSION

After leaving your ship, travel inland to Teguise, the island’s old capital that was founded in the 15th century by the Conquistadors. On days when there is no market, you will be able to admire the beautifully restored houses and picturesque square. Continue to Caleta Famara Beach, which Lanzarote artist César Manrique frequented as a child, and stop for photographs before passing through the typical Canarian villages of Soo, La Santa, Tinajo, Tiagua and Mozaga. Stop at the Peasants’ Monument  (Monumento al Campesino), which is 50 feet high and was created by Manrique in 1968 as a tribute to the work of the island’s peasant farmers. You then pass through Puerto del Carmen, the island’s biggest resort, on the way back.

Please note: Walking during the photo stop is at your discretion.

Good to know that you will only be passing through Puerto del Carmen, rather than stopping there !

Day 7 / 67

Good morning.

Currently reversing into Arrecife harbour. Following us in is the Amadea, last port of call Tenerife, on a 44 night cruise. From cruisetimetables.com she appears to have visited every single island in the Caribbean!

Looks like you may be docked at the new port. Nice easy walk into town.

After your coach trip, go to the Gran Hotel,  (the only high rise building in the island) and have tea and cake (or something stronger!) in the restaurant on the top floor. Great views .

Good morning!

Advice needed.  Saga says we can only book one speciality restaurant on the first evening and after that it is pot luck.  Is this the case and is it one restaurant per cabin or per group? Have you tried any yet?

Found out by accident that we should have been asked sizes for our Arctic jackets - not mentioned in all our documentation.  Also discovered we will get snow grips and they need the sizes for those.  Perhaps good to do this in advance rather than have a scrum on board!!

Have a lovely day.

Saw this too late! Thanks for the idea though.

Hi. First night you are assigned dining restaurant. We were MDR. You can book multiple specialty restaurants assuming they have availability.

Found out on social media about jackets and ice grips. Gave sizes for both to Saga over the phone pre cruise.
