Is a $49 cruise real?

We are just off the Regal yesterday. My husband talks to everyone. He talked to at least 5 people who claimed they got the cruise for $49 - $79. Separate times, different contexts.

 

What are these cruises and how do we find them? We had a relatively inexpensive cruise, but not $100 type inexpensive.

Its either a casino cruise or an offer to stay onboard when the next cruise is 33% capacity. Sadly I can't ever take advantage of that (kid, dog)

 

Also is that $49 total or $49 per day?

This cruise was definitely at 33% capacity. The one conversation I was present for, he said it was $49 for the whole cruise, but he hesitated, and when he went to accept, it was up to $79. Entire cruise.

 

So, it’s a last minute deal, maybe?

Exactly!! Gratuities still paid and hopefully specialty dining, drinks, casino. Enjoy it while it lasts bc ships will fill up again and deals will be gone. (I got an awesome deal where there wasn't a solo supplement. Booked 3 cruises)

If you add free drinks and gratuities, we got basically the same deal.

I wasn't offered anything like that when I was on the Grand with 600 passengers.  I would have stayed....

 

Those days are gone.  The Grand is sailing near capacity.
