How to Go From Anonymous to being Seen

Howdy @Lee G. and welcome back to the Cruise Critic message boards! 

 

Please do not worry!  Your posts are being seen. That was a feature from the old vBulletin software Cruise Critic used before the change to Invision software in 10/2018 and the change to new servers in 5/2019. Back then there was I think a red or green dot on your avatar (aka Profile Photo) to show if you were logged into the boards or not. Yours is a green L. If a member did not want the other members to know they were logged on, there was a setting they could use to be anonymous. To my knowledge, the feature is no longer active. BTW, mine was that way back then too!  

 

To clarify the situation, I suggest you send an inquiry via email to CC Help Jenn, Senior Community Support Specialist, at help@cruisecritic.com. Be sure to send your email from your Cruise Critic email address of record and mention you user name. This helps Jenn verify your membership and any reply is sent to your Cruise Critic email address of record. If your current Cruise Critic email address of record is not correct and needs to be updated before you send your email, please see the following: How to: Change your Cruise Critic Email Address or User Name

Thank you so much, Kat! It's good to be back. The cruise we were scheduled to take two years ago was canceled due to COVID. So now we're back!

Question: Can you direct me toward any other online sources where people can find those who are traveling on the same cruise? Thanks!

Hi!  I did follow up to your email, however  wanted to respond for anyone else who is curious

 

Anonymous is a setting we have as the default for ALL members.  This means that we do not show where on the forums you are currently reading or posting.  It does not hide your profile or posts from view, only your current "location" on the forums.
