luv2cruise03 Posted February 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2006 I know that this has probably been asked before, but I can not find it. Are the doors to the staterooms on the Mariner metal? I've got some 16th birthday decorations I would like to decorate my daughters door with, and I am wanting to get something to attach them. I could use magnet tape if the doors are metal. Thanks. GMoney Posted February 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2006 Regular tape works just fine.
PeterPan Posted February 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2006 :D I have it on very good authority that there are NO doors on the Mariner. It is designed with flow through ventilation to help lower A/C costs. Also, it is designed to help security properly monitor all passengers, to prevent future "incidents". :D :D :D :D

bouhunter Posted February 24, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2006 We were on Mariner last week - I would say they seemed like metal as best as I can recall. They were quite heavy.
ElvisandTracey Posted February 24, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2006 I always pack my own doors, just in case!!! I put it in my carry-on next to the over-the-door shoe rack. Cause you can't use the over-the-door shoe rack if there ain't no doors, right? Jeez-that's just logic talkin'
parrotthead Posted February 24, 2006 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2006 I was on the Mariner and the other posters are right..NO DOORS!! I was shocked...didnt keep the couple in the room next to us from any of their ''activites" tho:eek: .. I took the shower curtin down and duct taped it over the door opening..worked fine. I even held it back with a bungee cord in the evenings so the sea sir could flow thru ...it was very lovely.
PeterPan Posted February 24, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2006 Duct tape will only work if you can find the special ferrous version. Otherwise, your magnets won't stick to the door, and you won't be able to decorate it properly. If you can find member OrangeInIndy, he knows a really good source for this material. I just have to wonder if he's getting some kinda kickback on sales though. Pretty sure it was him who had the RCCL Coke cup on Ebay with the stain that looks just like Jesus..........
