Sea42 Posted April 5, 2022 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2022 Our cruise out of the Netherlands in May has been cancelled by HAL but we've decided to go ahead with our trip and explore the Netherlands and Belgium instead of the cruise to Norway. It appears that for Belgium we will need a QR code that requires a digital copy of our paper vaccine cards. Our state does not offer a digital copy. What is considered an acceptable copy? Do I just take a picture of the card? Everything on Mr. Google leaves me running around in circles and I'm getting frustrated! Also, when looking into getting the QR code, how do I know what is a legitimate app? I guess I'm looking for a link that gives step by step instructions LOL. With only a month before we leave it's a bit of challenge doing all the research I would normally spend months doings. Where to go, where to stay, how to get there, I can deal with but I don't want to get there and find I don't have what I need to enter Belgium. Thanks for any guidance you can offer! Cotswold Eagle Posted April 6, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2022 (edited) Belgium had some of the most restrictive and difficult to navigate restrictions, but my sense was that they had eased significantly in the last month. Best sources will be the official ones: US Embassy Brussels - https://unitedstates.diplomatie.belgium.be/en/coronavirus-covid-19 Belgian government site (in English) - https://www.info-coronavirus.be/en/recognised-vaccins-and-certificates/#vaccinationcertificates Neither of those appear to suggest the need for a digital certificate. The FAQs on this page state, “The validity and correctness of the certificate are checked by scanning the QR code or by checking the minimum information that must be present on the certificate.” Edited April 6, 2022 by Cotswold Eagle

I think I have a handle on it now. The US Embassy site had what I needed: Travel from the U.S. to Belgium: Fully vaccinated individuals can travel. Testing prior to arrival is no longer required. Travelers aged 12 and older who do not reside in Belgium must present a valid and recognized vaccination certificate. Both the CDC vaccination card and - when available - State-issued vaccination certificates are accepted as valid proofs of vaccination.
