we passed what looked like a nice club on water side (right) while in the taxi before we got to the area where all the clubs are lined up with the boardwalk. We did not like that area last time. This club was free standing and not too far from port as i said on way into mahahual. We are looking for more of a resort feel for a day, not the on top of each other clubs. Maya chan looks ok but it will be closed in July.

All the beach clubs are one after another along the malecon until you get to the end of town and start out down what used to be mostly a dirt road ( as en route to Maya Chan and others) and there they become more spread out.

GOING to Mahahual the water is on the left so not sure I understand where you are talking about? Do you mean the beginning of the malecon near the light house, or the other end?

Blue Kay has a separate entrance before the malecon stops on the tram begin. Big sign.  But it's NOT AI and management has changed with new owner being absentee and some of the people running the club are affiliated with El Faro which isn't the best spot along the malecon in terms of service or food.

There used to be a place called "The Lighthouse" near the Light House and the PEMEX station.  Haven't walked along that section in many years but also haven't heard any reports on the place in years.
