Question about stockholder benefits

If this is your first stock purchase, I would avoid NCLH.  I would hate to leave that taste in your mouth.  The onboard credit is only worth while if you cruise often and often with NCLH.  If you own stocks, it will likely increase the cost of doing your annual taxes that could offset any OBC from NCL.

oh i almost forgot to respond to you.  i only cruise now with NCL.  I am platinum but will be saphire on my cruise in september so yeah i cruise alot with them and my plan is to stick with them because of my benefits AND the freestyle cruising (dinner schedules and dressing up are not my priorities when vacationing).  I just want to thank you for your advice as well. very much appreciated!! 🙂

Heck yes to all of this! We will always be loyal to NCL. Freestyle cruising is what we want and is what we have always been able to get here. Tried Two other cruise companies and said no way to them. We will keep our NCL stock and are buying more now. NCL will come roaring back soon.

The world is in chaos, be patient. 😊

LOL  Not knowing anything about stocks, there is one thing I do know, if a company's stock tanks to 0.00, the company will not exist anymore.  is that correct?  and if that is correct, I do not EVER foresee NCL going to 0.00.  At least not in the next few years as more and more people begin to enjoy cruising.  I began cruising in 2003 and there is such as huge difference in cruising now and so many more people go, its gotten to be an extremely popular way of vacation, especially for families.  But I digress...

anything is possible.

That being said, perhaps i was rushing into this a bit and finding that i more than probable will be too late for the OBC for this upcoming cruise, perhaps I should pull in the reigns and hold the horses and think about things.

However, I am thrilled that I opened the E*trade account because I feel like if I am going to gamble money away, I rather it be in the market than in some machine in AC or Vegas or well, a cruiseship.

So, thank you all for the abundance of information and getting me off to a better start in life even if i am a little bit older to get into it, better late than never.

THANK YOU!!!!!

from the bottom of my heart...

Plenty of Time b4 your Sept cruise.

I just opened an E*trade acct yesterday to buy NCL & CCL for share holder OBC.

Great ROI.

I heard CCL is a little more strict with their shareholder benefit, like not getting the OBC if you booked a sale fare or if you booked with other special offers, not sure though; that's why I haven't really seriously considered it (also since I got sucked into the loyalty program as well).

"This benefit is available to shareholders holding a minimum of 100 shares of Carnival Corporation or Carnival plc. Employees, travel agents cruising at travel agent rates, interline rates, tour conductors or anyone cruising on a reduced-rate or complimentary basis are excluded from this offer."

Been reading a couple recent threads on Princess site & no word of that.

Our Carnival is a 2 wk casino comped cruise so perhaps that might get a push back

Reads like the casino comped won't fly, not sure what they consider reduced-rate.

Went over to Carnival.

Sounds like that one may not get it (fair enough) but sounds like no issues with other rates (tho it’s our only Carnival one booked)

I have NEVER tried Carnival. Some people like it, you couldnt get me on it. NOPE.

I tried Princess once-HATED IT. Service was horrible, food was hit or miss.

I first tried Celebrity-nice, fancy, crazy best service but boring and too old style cruising for me. no entertainment-wth?

I tried Royal Caribbean but alot of stuff is good for kids and they are a bit expensive for rooms when I can get a better room on NCL for cheaper. They have a type of freestyle dining but its just not the same and they have dress up nights, etc. I don't wanna dress up 😞. However, RCI food is to die for...

Now, NCL? they have it ALL-for me! No dressing up 🙂, eat when and with whom i want essentially allowing me to make my own itinerary.  Plus, fun entertainment for all ages and reasonably priced rooms. Food is especially really good in the specialty restaurants and basically that's all I eat in. NCL is my second home. BOOM! Guess who I am staying with ?? LOL LOL

All that being said, yeah Im going to buy the NCL stock and cross my fingers that NCL will allow me to use for this cruise, if not, i got september's cruise and next year 2023 March cruise and whatever else I book for next year after that one. Gotta do something for my 50th 🙂!!!! Just gotta figure what/where.

It says OBC  is per cabin.

Both DH & my name r on the shares.

We r sailing w/ our YA kids next summer.

We had to book he in 1 cabin & I in another to get casino rate 4 both.

Will we get OBC for each cabin?

Where do you get this info for the OBC with NCL?  Im sure there are different amounts for different lengths of cruises, etc.  My sept one is only 5 nights while my march one is 8 nights.  Where do I get info about NCL shareholder benefits?  thank you again for any and all help.

Submit your statement with this form.  Account number must be blacked out before submitting. If your statement has multiple pages, send enough pages to show your name and the 100 NCLH shares.

We have done DCL,NCL,RCCL,Princess & Celebrity

Find them mote alike than different.

We find larger ships to be our preference.

Carnival offered a free Casino Match cruise so we took one of the most expensive ones offered to Hawaii.
We have a good time wherever we go 👍

How did you find Disney? I've never tried them but heard they are really nice. What did you think of the food?

How did you like Hawaii? It's on my bucket list but first is Alaska.

Totally agree cruising is a great time no matter where you go or what line.

We did DCL 16 years ago. Food was meh & it was very nice (in laws took whole family) but we didn't feel it was nicer than any other line for the price difference.

We are sailing to Hawaii in January. But we went to Oahu for a week in 2018. ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Very excited to go back plus see the other islands.

NCL has the same language, but will give you a shareholder benefit for a casino cruise. That is because the casino is "paying" for the room.
