workfromship Posted June 14, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2022 This has been a problem on every Carnival ship we have been on. The king size bed is just two twin mattresses put together so I end up slowly sinking in between the mattresses throughout the night. Do any other couples have this issue? Has anyone come up with a clever workaround?
Rare Saint Greg Posted June 14, 2022 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2022 I think it depends on how tight they have those mattresses. Sometimes it's a problem and sometimes it isn't.
DANCING GRANDMOMMY Posted June 14, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2022 Turn the mattresses sideways.
Marine91 Posted June 14, 2022 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2022 Haven't had a problem at all. The beds are setup similar to my split king adjustable bed at home.

The only issue I see is that it makes the overall length of the bed shorter :( I wish the stewards had a sturdier way of binding the mattresses together. Bandman Posted June 14, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 14, 2022 We have experienced this from time to time, but we are just off a Back to Back on the Mardi Gras and didn’t have this issue at all. In fact it was the most comfortable bed we have ever had at sea.
Rare mkcurran Posted June 14, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2022 First time on the Splendor, we didn't have this problem. So I thought nothing of it and booked the exact same room for our next cruise. Some where in the 9 months between cruises something happened and we ended up with this problem. Hubby kept falling in the crack. Told him it wouldn't be a problem if he stuck to his side of the bed. 🤷♀️😆
Guest BasicSailor Posted June 15, 2022 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2022 Does anyone else fall in-between the mattresses? My cousin Earl fell through there one night in a drunken spasm. There still looking for him.😲 So far so good !😉
Rare slavigne5577 Posted June 15, 2022 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2022 6 years ago we went on first Carnival cruise on Elation. There was a storm we were going around but it was a rough ride. Our room was in the front porthole on deck 6. To get down the hall we had to hold on the the walls it was so rough. I remember wedging myself into that Crack in the bed so I would not roll out of bed. LOL!!! My pour husband fell out a time or two. WE HAD A GREAT TIME!!!!
