laumicmah Posted July 3, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2022 At a hotel in Melbourne and there are 2 ships going in and out of PC today. One RCCL coming in at 1pm for a stop from Northern Port departure (prob Balt). Another cruise line (can't recall) leaves from PC today at like 4 or 4.30. Was told be hotel Stagg we can see cruise ships from a waterfront restaurant here (forgot which one...Squid Lips or Frigates or The Mansion or Grille...all the ones he recommended). There is one Grills in PC and one here in Melboure. We don't want to go all the way to PC (about 40 mins) and hoping we can see from Melbourne somewhere. Anyone know and have suggestions? Is there closer to coast route for either departure...is there way to see the routes on map? TIA!
laumicmah Posted July 3, 2022 Author #2 Share Posted July 3, 2022 It's Harmony of the Seas leaving out at 4.30. Do they come close enough to coast to see from Melbourne Beach?
laumicmah Posted July 4, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted July 4, 2022 (edited) I now can answer my own question in case anyone ever wants to know. We went and sat on 2nd floor outdoor deck bar at Lou's Blues Bar and Grill. We sat at the railing on stools and got beers. You can look right out at ocean. We then went on cruise tracker to track the Harmony OTS and could see it pass right by. It was in distance and closest view was right when it first popped up in our view as it moved to the right it got farther out to sea but was still visible. We paid out tab and walked out to beach to see it from there. Pretty neat. We didn't get food there but could see and small it and it seems like it's delicious BBQ type food. ANd they had bands playing inside. Edited July 4, 2022 by laumicmah

We could tell it was a cruise ship but was very far out on the horizon.
