Linking a reservation for dining

I tried to link another reservation to mine for dining only. It appears that I now can book excursions among other things for them.  Can I link only dining?

I *tried* to do this but got a strange error message about my friends using a different currency.  We're all in the USA.

I got that recently myself on a booking I made for my sister-in-law.   Since we are paying for  both cruises I knew it was an error.  Called my agent and he fixed and linked them.
