cantwait2cruise Posted May 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Hey Carolina girl...I'm a Carolina girl too. My mom and I stayed at the Raddison in Pt. Canaveral. They have a package that includes the room, shuttle to and from the port and the ability to leave your car there. It worked great for us. We arrived about 6 (9 hour drive) on Sat. and were able to rest for the rest of the night. We signed up for the shuttle (I think they leave in 15 or 30 min. intervals) when I booked the room so we checked out and were on the shuttle by 11:30 and on the ship by 12:30. My mom had a brand new car and was worried about leaving it for four days but we parked it in the area behind the gate. (There is a gate that you have to insert your room key in to make it go up.) Upon disembarkation we just went to the area where all the shuttles and busses are waiting and found the Radisson van. Pretty painless! cantwait2cruise Posted May 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I forgot to say I think it was about $120.00 for a double bed room... KellyJean Posted May 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2004 I can only give input to a hotel as we drove down and parked at the pier. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. We paid about $75-79 for a double room. It's right across the street for the Cocoa Beach Pier. twojt Posted May 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 19, 2004 We also stayed at the Raddison on Friday night and left the car at the hotel. We did not take the shuttle (because we did not book it in time)--everything was wonderful. We stayed in a suite and it was fantastic. BOOK THE SHUTTLE EARLY! We are going again this year on the Glory for Thanksgiving and staying at the same hotel. dan40 Posted May 20, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Even if you book the lowest rate possible at the Rad, you can still leave your car and take the shuttle. When you call them to book the room try to book the shuttle at the same time. It does fill early. But its only a $10 taxi to the ship and you can shuttle back [no schedule on the return]. hill6 Posted May 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2004 We stayed there too and I got the room with 2 king beds and the jacuzzi and it was nice. We had room 234 and we woke up to see the lights of the ships at the pier. The 200, 300 and 400 buildings overlook the pier. Ask for the view when you check in. mafig Posted May 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Are the pier-view rooms noisy? In other words, are they also facing the pool?
dan40 Posted May 20, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 20, 2004 No noise, if the room faces the pool you can't see the port. Dan Till 9/5 Paradise Panama Canal
