Hello!

1.We are booked on X and they have an option on cruising days to book a tender tour to get closer to the glaciers. Has someone tried it? Is it worth the cost. They have the option at Hubbard and Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier.

We are from Norway and one of us has lived on Spitzbergen for 2 years. So we have been kayaking on Svalbard, been lot out to glaciers in that area.

Whales are not the biggest thing for us, we have seen it often and it's not the most important thing for us on this trip.

We are used to be out in the nature and have clothing for all events;)

2. Ketchikan

We have booked a trip called Rain Forest Island Adventure, has someone tried it? Other recommendation for what we might do instead?

We dont want a full day in car/bus big group tour.

3. Other ports we have booked:

Sitka: Wilderness Sea Kayaking Adventure

Juneau: Bike & Brew Glacier View

Skagway: White pass scenic railway

TIA

We did the small boat to the Dawes glacier from Solstice last month. It was easily one of the best excursions we’ve ever done. They offload you right from the ship onto their boat and then return you to Juneau.

Regarding the Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier tour offered by Celebrity we also did the tour from the Solstice in June.  The vendor was Major Marine and the boat had two levels.  There was lots of space to spread out through the small boat.  The Solstice itself was able to approach the glacier to about a mile from the face, but the small boat was able to approach to about a quarter of a mile from the face.  We returned to Juneau detouring into Ford's Terror which is a narrow side fjord of Endicott Arm.  We thought the tour was well worth it.

Ketchikan Kayak Company has an Electric bike/Rainforest hike or a keyaking adventure out of Ketchikan.  They pick you up at the cruise port, you do the activity, and then they return you to the ship or downtown (your preference).  They are a good company to book through.  You can find them on the web.
