Hotels in Athens

Anyone know if there are any hotels in Athens that offer transfers to the cruise port?  Not looking for a free service just one offered by the hotel.

No, it's a half an hour to Piraeus port, take a taxi, negotiate a price before, should be around $50:00. Or if you have light luggage take the subway fast an easy.

No, but most any 3 or 4 star hotel in Athens will be more than happy to arrange a taxi for you to the port.

Currently, a taxi costs 38 euro from city center to Piraeus port, takes 30 minutes.

50 USD? Wow, from where?  We paid 17 EUR or less than 20 USD from northern Plaka.  It was cheaper than public transport.

 

Aside from taking the subway, you can also take a bus from Syntagma Square.

Yeah, that is about twice as much as is normal.

This is a useful site. From their top page:

Fares are charged with a meter after the initial base rate of €3.44 is applied. The tariff is €0.74 per Km and will double after midnight through to 5am. There are flat fares to and from the airport: 38 euros to central Athens (including luggage, VAT and road tolls). A flat fee of 55 euros from midnight to 5am. These prices are for standard taxi fares that are not pre-arranged such as private taxi transfers that are offering a superior service. If you are getting into a taxi from the airport, you will be directed into a queue outside the arrivals hall.

The airport and central Athens are a long way apart.  I think people are mixing fares from central Athens with fares from the Athens Airport.  Pardon my mouse drawn text.

Well, sure, there are overpriced services that charge double or more what others charge.  Some people may view it as a rip off; I view it as pricing services according to what the market bears.

 

In any case, we paid 17 Euro for a taxi from a hotel in Plaka directly to the pier.
