Misty9388 Posted August 16, 2022 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2022 I am heartbroken 💔 We just found out my dad has cancer, we need to cancel our trip. We did take the travel insurance that was offered during booking. Do I call Royal first or do I call the insurance company they use? I am not sure how to handle this. Any advice would be appreciated
poocher Posted August 16, 2022 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2022 So sorry for your dad! I would call both. Start with Royal, then AON. I believe there are forms to fill out. My prayers for your dads recovery:

klfrodo Posted August 16, 2022 #4 Share Posted August 16, 2022 Don't cancel a thing until you hear from AON. Also, if there are ANY issues regarding medical coverage and getting 100% refund, don't forget that the policy you purchased has a rider called "Cancel For Any Reason". It allows you to cancel the trip for any reason up until scheduled sailing time. You will only receive a 75% FCC and not a 100% full cash refund but better than a swift kick. Sorry to hear about your dad!
Janet524 Posted August 16, 2022 #5 Share Posted August 16, 2022 I am so sorry for your sad news. I had to cancel a cruise under similar circumstances. I contacted Royal first to cancel and got the contact phone number for the AON insurance. I found the AON representative very helpful. After completing and returning the paperwork, my refund came through very quickly. Good luck.
