Can I use a HAL gift card to purchase this HIA that is offered online right now!   I went to check out and they only offer a CC option!   It’s for A 7 day cruise!   I would like to buy the $500. Gift card from AARP!

You should be able to through HAL.  The cards are essentially a cash payment to HAL.

I would guess I would have to call to purchase HIA as they don’t offer listing gift cards online at check,out,

It may be true for HIA, but checking out to pay for other items in your cart, look just above the Credit Card info and there is a spot to APPLY GIFT CARDS with a drop-down arrow. 

 

I can't apparently apply HIA because I already have it!

I would call except I do not have the patience to spend 216 hours on hold.

 

For some cruises I am finding that the HIA cost in CAD is about $75 so good - on other cruises I have found that it is as high as $210 CAD - no rhyme or reason. I am pricing for a single occupancy, and a friend says that sometimes the pricing defaults to double occupancy. Very frustrating when this has to get resolved through interminable wait times - apologies - just my rant for today.

I was able to buy it using a gift card over the phone to reservations. Took a long time to get someone to pick up at the right department but thought it was a great score!

Yes, we have done this if you can't do it online call your PCC
