In what regard?
It would have to comply with US regs while  in the US and Australian regs when in Australia.

Stuff like smoking in the casino, etc.  Just curious as to what RCI regard this cruise as it leaves the USA and arrives in AUS

I think you will find they are more ship/ cruise line rules and would be enforced by RCI regardless of location.

Do you think so?  Surely the cruise line can adjust the rules to suit the home base and majority of passengers.  eg Smoking is a big issue for countries like Australia.

It is more than  likely a mix of both…ship rules but bent a touch to satisfy local demands. The original question though was would this  repo cruise be classified as an Australian or US cruise and I think that it  could start off with US rules and morph into an Aussie cruise half way through.
I can remember doing Sydney / Honolulu on the Rhapsody and half way through the cruise they discounted all the Australian beers on board to clear them  out.  😁

Yes we had the reverse experience on Rhapsody's first cruise to Australia from Hawaii  Out with the grits, sweet pastries and cakes for breakfast, flavoured teas, etc.  To be replaced with real tea from Tahiti and Fiji, paraded around Bomb Alaska style!

That sounds interesting.  Maybe we'll get a more American-skewed menu for the first week and then to more Aussie flavours?

So would this cruise be classed as a US cruise or an Australian cruise for purposes of its operation and regulations it needs to follow?

Ovation of the Seas HNL --> SYD

If you are talking Covid protocols, it is a bit of both. Vaxx requirements match Australia, pre-cruise testing matches US.

Most things aboard are the same for both countries - any specific thing you need info for?

Not too much in Aussie based “cuisine” really, even when home ported here.

Nothing too specific. Maybe what power outlets we'd find on board. We're in HNL now and I forgot to pack my Aldi universal power board. I bought a small travel adapter.
