Recommended Posts

Pictures taken between Monday, August 29 and Sunday, September 4.

Do you remember that time in September? No? Well don't make that mistake again! Take some photos to remember this September by and share them!

Rules: See above

That's it. This isn't a contest.

All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising).

Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize.

The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays.

Post one. Post many. Up to you.

Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others!

The SS Keewatin is tourist  attraction that has been closed for the past 3 years & it's starting to show neglect. It used to cruise the Great Lakes from Port McNicoll to Fort William (Thunder Bay) as part of a 5 ship fleet of Canadian Pacific Railway. Looking a little sad.

Nice to see the photos of the Keewatin .... yes, too bad it is closed down.

Georgian Bay is one of my favourite places to take photos.  I love the rocky shoals and shoreline.  You live in a beautiful part of the world.   Here are some recent Georgian Bay photos.

We had our Labor Day a little early in the weekend since Saturday offered the best schedule alignment for the various attendees. Back when we started making plans, the days were in the 90°s and the evenings were falling to a tolerable high 70°s/low 80°s. What do the best laid plans of mice and men have in common? They are both susceptible to the whims of Mother Nature. By the time the long weekend arrived, we were in the middle of our annual heat stroke season which varies from early August to late September. This year we took a direct hit on the holiday. While the adults enjoyed the air conditioning, the grandkids fought the 105° heat the way kids do. Find something wet and stand in it.

A little late to post last weekend's photos - but I finally got around to it!

A white peacock butterfly:

Black-bellied whistling duck in flight:

Young Florida softshell turtle yearning to fly:

Walking around a bend in the boardwalk, this green iguana came around the opposite bend and we had ourselves a gunfighter standoff:

My favorite spider - the spiny backed orb-weaver:

And finally - no award winning photos, these.  Light was terrible, deep under the tree cover and end of daylight.  But I had to take a few shots because they're cute, and they're not always easy to find.  Fresh hatched baby alligators, just 4 days old:

Here's a challenge - it's like 'Where's Waldo' - or 'Waldos'.  A few of the baby gators are fairly obvious here, but some are harder to spot.  Can you find all 5?
