Arriving After Scheduled Boarding Time

So... we have a 10-10:30 boarding time in Galveston Sat. on Vista but we're not sure if we will make it in time. If we are late, do we skip the line and go on through or get stuck at the back to the line for the next boarding time?

They have a line for early or late arrivals.  They move the people that are there for their scheduled times. Then they move the other line.

This isn't consistent from port to port.  At most of the ports I've sailed from nobody even checks your scheduled arrival time and folks barge in an hour or two early and muck things up for everyone else (even though they won't be able to get on the ship until their boarding group is called).

This is why I show up late.... I let this nonsense run its course

Your arrival time is for check-in. Your boarding group is a letter/number combo. You will get in line for check-in when you arrive. Boarding usually begins around 11:00.

Each port might be different, but in my experience, we were way outside our arrival appointment window in Long Beach due to a late flight.  They didn't care at all. and ushered right through the regular line saying as long as you aren't too early you are fine.

Once the first groups start boarding everyone else usually boards after their check-in is complete.
