*Non-US Residence* Updated Testing and Vaccination* (Caribbean cruise)

Just want to post an update today from MSC for non-US residence pre-boarding testing and vaccination requirements!

I was checking the MSC app and it looks like pre embarkation PCR/Antigen test for vaccinated guests are now "reccomended" and not "required"!

Also,  vaccination is "reccomended" and not required" (if not vaccinated,  i would assume a pre-embarkation PCR/Antigen test is still required) .

I was only able to find this new info through the app (updated september 22nd 2022) :

> "Useful info"
> "embarkation procedures"
> "Getting Onboard"
> press "website" under bullet-1
> scroll to "Caribbean from US" and click "Read More"
> scroll down and you will see "Travel Requirements for cruises from 1st October 2022")
> "Measures to embark"

I cant seem to find this info on the Canadian website,  can anyone else confirm?

Where are the requirements for Mediterranean cruises (US citizens). I see no test required if I look on the UK site (as of October 1). I'm guessing this only applies to UK citizens??

As of right now, I haven't been able to log onto the US site at all.

I looked at several countries (non-US) and only found the updates on the UK site.

Thanks. As was mentioned in another thread, that sounds like an embarkation nightmare, to have different rules based on your home country 🙂

What MSC app?  MSC for Me only allows you in the app if you have a booking on certain ships.

Can you post US requirements for Mediterranean cruises if they've updated for 10/1 changes?

Hi,   I  went to "Mediterranean" section of the App, it basically states as of Oct 1st 2022, pre embarkation covid testing is "recommended" and not "required, if you are fully vaccinated,  EXCEPT for Greece embarkation ports.   Greece embarkation ports still require a negative PCR/Antigen test no more than 2 days prior to embarkation.   Hope this helps!

It does. Is that just for US citizens or just applicable to all?

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS FOR CRUISES FROM 1ST OCTOBER 2022

MEASURES TO EMBARK

The below requirements are valid for cruises starting from 1st October 2022

Vaccination requirements

All Guests are strongly encouraged, but not required, to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

When a Guest is considered “fully vaccinated”?

Guests who have received at least two doses of vaccine of Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Oxford/AstraZeneca; Covishield; Sinopharm, SInovac, Coronavac, Novavax/Covovax
Guests must present their original vaccination card or certificate reflecting two required doses at pier upon check in.

IMPORTANT: Guests arriving from international destinations to the US should check the travel requirements to enter US which currently require any person ages 18 years old or over to be fully vaccinated. Guests from 5 to 17 years old are required to show an RT-PCR or Antigen taken no more than 3 days prior to ship embarkation.

Testing requirements

For vaccinated Guests it’s not required (but strongly recommended) to present a negative test.
Unvaccinated guests ages 5 or older and Guests who have only recovered from Covid-19 are not considered as fully vaccinated therefore are required to present a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR or Antigen test taken 3 days prior to embarkation.
Tests must be laboratory certified. A rapid antigen self-test is not valid for travel purposes.

All guests are recommended to travel with their COVID-19 vaccination status and test results. While the vaccination is not required for boarding it could be requested in various ports of call and at local attractions.

The original test results certificate and vaccination certificate must be presented at the terminal (paper or electronic format) and must be in one of the following languages: English, Italian, German, French or Spanish. The COVID 19 test certificate must contain: guest’s personal data (verifiable with the other travel documents), date of the test, identification / contact details of the centre that performed the analysis, technique used and negative test result.

All Crew members are required to be fully vaccinated and regularly weekly tested according to MSC Cruises Health & Safety protocol.

When will the USA website update? It still shows tests required for non-US residents for cruises departing US for Caribbean/Bahamas..  so how does that work when Canadian and UK sites show no testing required??

🙄

The USA website is so outdated.  I really think they've forgotten to update it. It says I need a test for my Med cruise, but nearly every other country's site says no more test.
