Edinburgh port times and Regent excursions times don’t jive

Our 2023 cruise includes a stop in Edinburgh, a tender port, that shows that we are there from 9 AM to 7 PM. Our Regent tour and a couple of other Regent offered tours show the start time at 8:30 AM. I am trying to plan the rest of our day on our own and I’m a bit confused on when the Regent tour will actually start. How long does the tendering process take?

Word of warning. The tour times can and often do change once you get the final tickets upon boarding. Take the start time and to a lesser extent the actual tour time as a best guess. We have had start times change by 30 minutes up to an hour or more earlier or later. Since you are booking a tour months and months before the sail date things sometimes change.
Bring a tender port and very popular that might be the time you will gather in the lounge for bus ticket before being taken in groups to the tender.
Don’t plan your day to full.

Perhaps the people on tours get to disembark at 8:30 since you are using tenders and those not on tours must wait.  Just a guess!

Yes, people on tours get priority for tenders.  You get a tender ticket.  If not on a tour you can go to theater and request a tender.  They fit you in.  It doesn’t take very long before it’s just open tender.
