Hello, Can anyone recommend a beach bar that rents loungers on Grand Anse Beach?  I had read about Lazy Days but I am not sure if it is still open.

GA can be Babylon/Mayhem.
Be brave and sensible.  Go over the hill to La Plywood, better ambiance, view, food, drinks.  Plus one’s money will go further and custom will be greatly appreciated.

Can you tell me more about these two beaches?  Do you have a beach bar there you would recommend?  How far from the port is it?  We would probably take a taxi

La Plywood is a beach bar…… on Morne Rouge Beach

About 20 minutes there, but allow and extra 5 on return for port traffic.  One could queue for more than that for a water taxi.

The taxi fare, from memory, was USD 15 e/w, but work on $20 as being the possible highest. Book the taxi from the government approved official kiosk inside the cover port area.  Think it was close to the tourist information desk.  Fares are officially published.  The driver out will be happy to collect at your required time.

How do you get to La Plywood from the water taxi? Is it far from the water taxi stand? I have one traveler with me who can't walk long distances. I'm trying to figure out the best options for us but the women are reluctant to be in a taxi.

The walk from the ship to the water taxi can be considered quite long, especially when there are slightly steep stairs down to the taxi jetty, then the boarding can be considered tricky.  Not all water taxis wish to go to plywood, and there was no disembarking jetty.  Just a wade ashore.

Take a taxi, short walk at both ends.
