Delta sales?

Does Delta ever have sales?  I have credits to use and was looking for Feb and July and the prices are higher even of I put my $300 credit towards the flight versus other lines?  Is Delta just an expensive airline or am I missing something?  Thanks!

The demand to fly has been extremely high, and the supply has not increased...in fact it has decreased some. No need to discount.

Godot will show up before any DL sales.  Or at least any kind of wide-spread discounting of prices.  There is always the possibility of a VERY targeted price-reduction for a few routes and for a few flight days.  But this is not like Macy's, where there's a sale every weekend.  (or so it seems)

Alaska is running a promotion right now.  Delta may quietly price match some select routes.

And even that AS "sale" is quite limited.  For example, the rules state:

 

Purchase by 11:59 pm (PT) on January 05, 2023, and at least 14 days prior to departure. Travel ... is valid Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from January 17, 2023 - March 08, 2023. Blackout dates are from February 16, 2023 to February 27, 2023. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights or all days. If nonstop service is offered during the advertised travel period, the advertised fare applies to the nonstop flights only

 

So, it's only for three days a week with limited seats and may not be for all flights or all days.

 

IMO, waiting or expecting a "sale" is a losing proposition.
