Embarkation with a minor Question

Hi all,

We are cruising next month with a couple of different cabins. My immediate family is arriving ahead of time, staying near Port Everglades, and have an early check in time.

However, my oldest is staying in a room with my grandparents. He is assigned the earlier check in time, and has his own SetSail Pass. My grandparents will not be arriving to the port until several hours later.

Will they allow my son to check in with us, even if the adults in his room are not yet there?

If I was the pier agent doing the check-in, I would call a supervisor for the okay to check in the minor.  It could be possible that the minor (along with a parent) may have to wait until the grandparent roommate arrives.  Honestly, it could go either way depending on the local practices at the port you are sailing from.

It's good that you are mindful of what the possibilities are.
