Weather in NZ Cruising from Auckland to Sidney in Late March-Early April

We are cruising from Auckland down around to Tasmania and back up to Sidney in late March-Early April and trying to figure out how hot or cold we can expect it to be? Taking light rainproof jacket and at least a couple of henley long sleeves. Are we good? Need a heavier jacket? We know how to layer. We’ve seen lots of reports on cold weather and high winds, missed ports, and this is summer!

In 2019 it was great weather! Who knows what it will be like this year.

I'd add a light fleece or jumper, plus a warm hat, scarf and gloves. It can get chilly first thing in the morning doing the Fiordland scenic cruising and it's best to be outside for that.
