Howdy!

We(4 adults) are doing a Alaskan Cruise(Solstice) out of Seattle and hoping someone can give us recommendations on hotels and transportation.  We get in around 4pm and thinking it would be easier to stay by airport and then go to Pier the next morning.

Thanks in advance for any info.

We took the light rail to downtown (cheap), stayed at Hilton Garden Inn on Boren (about a 15 walk from the rail station).  However, there are many other hotels in the area one could choose.  Boarding day the hotel set us up with a transfer to the port (nice luxury SUV, don't remember how much it was, probably about $40).  Easy Peasy.

We stayed at the Renaissance in Downtown Seattle.  We've stayed there twice and it is a very comfortable hotel.

We used Uber from the airport to the hotel and a taxi from the hotel to the airport and from the ship to the airport.   The reason we used a taxi was because where our ship, Quantum of the Seas, was berthed, ride share was not permitted within a couple of blocks of the ships but taxi's were.  Not sure if the same is the case where Celebrity docks as there were no Celebrity ships in port on the days we were there.

We often do just that, stay by the airport as it's less expensive and has shuttles from the airport to the hotel.   We use Seattle Express to get to and from the ship.  Have always had excellent service from them, including the time we didn't have our transfer from the ship to the airport prebooked, they took us as a walkup without batting an eye.
