Amsterdam to Hamburg train RT--am I booking the right thing?

Flying into Amsterdam & staying 2 nights central Amsterdam. (Holiday Inn Express City Hall)

Taking train to Hamburg on Saturday May 6 to catch cruise on Sunday May 7.

Staying Courtyard Hamburg City.

Then will take train from Hamburg to Amsterdam on Sunday May 28.

Staying at the airport.--Ibis Style.

 

I have looked at Rail Europe. Choosing those with only one train change.

11AM train to Hamburg $37 on the 6th.

11:45 AM train to Amsterdam $37 on the 28th.

We dock at 8AM--is 11:45 too early?

Don't book through Rail Europe. They will be more expensive. Book directly at the website for the train company 4 months prior to the trip for the best rates.

I’m going to say that those prices are amazing. I’ve just had a look on the Deutsche Bahn website and lowest prices are €79. I usually book direct with Deutsche Bahn and find them cheapest. Make sure you reserve seats - it will be a busy route.

Amsterdam-Hamburg May 6th 11:00-16:14 with one change in Osnabrück, incl seat reservation NON-flex € 32,90. return at May 28th 11:45   € 38,90  via NSInternational.com (Dutch railways). 

 

Trainline offers the same trains for resp € 32,90 and € 34,90 plus in both cases € 4,50 per seat reservation.

Avoid Rail Europe as mentioned and buy the tickets from DB, www.bahn.de

 

The mentioned departures currently cost €34,90 each if you buy them from DB.
