Nassau Port Progress

Can anyone comment on the progress of the new cruise port area. I'll be there next month and want to know if any of it is open. Thanks.

It's looking good, but there's still some work to do.  Nothing is open yet.  I went a year ago and then last week.  They've made a lot of progress, but I wouldn't feel confident it'll be done next month.

Due to Covid there seems to be a lot more open space and grass than the original plan.

 

More Outdoor Space Than Originally Designed

An Indoor/Outdoor Marketplace and shopping area is being built including Hair Braiding Salons acknowledging current and future physical distancing requirements. More outdoor design was set in place as soon as COVID started impacting the project.

Just got back and there is still a lot of work to be done.   I'd be surprised if any of it was open, but dang it looks nice!!!

Apparently it is opening today.  Maybe they are going to open the terminal building.  It doesn't look like much else is ready to go on the webcam.

Love the new port area.  Was there on June 14, 2023 and what a transformation!  I'm not sure if this was just from recently being opened, but it seemed as if no locals were permitted in this port area.  Security checked Cruise ID by the road so only passengers were allowed in that area that day.   Taxi's were still waiting outside the port area so never a problem getting a taxi here.   Nice area to walk along the waterfront and it will be even better once the small vendor shops open.
