Drinks while Gambling

Good evening.  I was just with some friends that were on a cruise for New Year's and they advised they were charged for drinks while gambling in the casino on Carnival.   Is this the case with Royal Caribbean as well?

Unless you have a drinks pkg or promo yes. Drinks arent free. 

 

I get 5 free drinks a day and can choose to use them anywhere. But it's a loyalty perk I earned.

Usually yes...  Last time on Navigator, I had them comp a couple drinks for me unexpectedly one night.  It just happened on one evening when I had been at the table for a fair while. Then everything went back to normal the next day, but it is possible.  I'd expect to pay for your drinks if you don't have the drink package though.
