Holland America airport to port transfer at Fiumicino (Rome)

Hello all, I booked an airport to port transfer through HAL but never received any further information about meeting point, etc. Does anyone have any experience at the airport in Rome?

The typical HAL meetup is by a representative with a HAL name badge and a sign just past baggage claim/customs.   If you have your final invoice it should be noted there

I did a TA on the Rotterdam and they met us after we had cleared customs.  I don't know if the procedures are still the same.

Also look for your name, you might be the only people at that time and getting into a normal private van/limo service.

There was extra confusion for us because there was also someone with a HAL sign, but they were picking up crew.

Once you come through the final double doors you will turn left to exit.  At the end of that walkway you will see a rep with a big HAL sign.  (I’ve never actually used the service but have seen the reps each time I’ve flown in.)  Enjoy your trip!

We have sailed out of Civatavecchia on HAL twice.  The first time we took the HAL shuttle.  We did a lot of waiting.  First we had to wait for the bus after our flight landed.  Second we had to wait for other passengers from other flights to arrive.  We were loading a 44 passenger coach.  Finally our group was checking in at the ship at the same time.

 

The second time we took a taxi.  This was in 2018, but the taxi cost was about the same as for two persons for the shuttle.  There was no problem finding a taxi.  When we arrived (1 PM or so) at the port, we were ahead of the bus and almost no wait.
