Looking for a hotel in Manilla after Jewel in November. Would like to stay in decent place in town.

Thanks in advance

What are you looking for a place close to the port, the airport or in another part of the city? We live north of Manila, so we know the area well. Everything is available from $20 to $2000  a night. But very nice places can be had for a few hundred dollars.

Do you live up near Clark International Airport/Angeles City?  If so, we will need a mid-range hotel for one night.  It is true that prices are from very low to very high.  (Well, not that high.)  Which hotel would you recommend?  We will be there on Feb. 1, 2024, flying in from Puerto Princesa.

Also, do you know of a car hire/rental/taxi that we can hire locally, with driver, that can take us around in the afternoon to visit some former POW sites?

Thank you for any information you can provide.

We are staying a few days in Manila pre cruise. We are considering staying at the City Gardens Suites. We think it is close to the cruise port. Can anyone confirm this. Thanks much.

Yes, about a 10-minute taxi ride depending upon traffic. Less than 1.5 miles away from the port. Walking would be about 25 minutes.

Yes, I live in Angeles City with my wife. We own and operate a real estate development company here. Several branded hotels on Clark itself, like Marriott and Swiss Hotel, which will run about $200 per night. Many nice hotels for about $100 per night in Angeles City. Basic but clean, doable hotels for under $50 per night.

Most of the Expats here use the same transportation service, Rem Matibag and his wife own Air Flags Travel & Tours, you can get a car and driver from him. We use his services and recommend him to our tenants.

A few things to see and do on Clark itself.  Just to the north of Clark is Capas which was the end of the Bataan Death March & National Memorial.

Uber does not operate in the Philippines, but they have a joint venture here called Grab, which is basically the same as Uber.

We have a very active American Legion here that would be happy to provide more answers to you if needed, they do not care if you're military or not, they welcome everyone. Let me know if you have any other questions, happy to try to provide good information.  As of now my wife and I should be in Angeles at that time, planning a quick trip to Ohau, but back before the end of January.

It's worth noting that City Garden Suites (Manila), City Garden Grand Hotel (Makati), and City Garden Hotel (Makati) are three distinct hotels located in Metro Manila. To prevent any delays or misunderstandings, please ensure you contact the specific hotel where you have made reservations. Confirming your booking details directly with the hotel will help ensure a smooth check-in experience.
