Trip wondering

There are small ship cruises like Viking Ocean, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, etc. and there are expedition cruises with Hurtigruten, National Geographic, Viking Expeditions, Silverseas, etc. what kind of a cruise are you looking for?

For most cruisers, Glacier Bay is a must see.  Both Viking and Seaborne have permits.  I would start with them.  I would stay away from Alaska Dream Cruises and UnCruise.  They have really old boats (30-50 years old) that have not been refurbished in a while and they are more expedition-type cruises.

Look at itineraries and find the one that appeals to you the most.  These cruises have a higher sticker price, but literally everything is included.  They don’t nickel and dime you or try to sell you something every five minutes.  The generally have good naturalists and speakers onboard to give lectures and point out wildlife.
