I believe there is a current thread where wine fees and such like are already being discussed.

PS: Thoroughly looking forward to our next few stops.

Malaga, Tangier and Lisbon.

Apologies, enjoy your cruise.

Do any of the Cruise critic people onboard ever have a get together? Just thought I'd ask as we only boarded at Dover & disembark in London 🥰

Yep, there has all ready been at lest one Meet and Great, and I think there might be another meet and Great after London.

Get in touch with Gaznjo and she can advise you 🙂

Although not an official Meet & Greet, there is a slot pull organised.

You could perhaps put a few faces to some names there.

Tues 18th at 3:15, Casino.

We just love Lisbon. One of the best trips we have had on a world cruise was in Lisbon, with a company called " We Hate Tourists".  Well we fell in love with them.

Tangier

Everyone I have spoken with seemed to have a nice day here.

We went on a wonderful tour to Chefchaouen, The Blue City.

About 2 hrs each way, but totally worthwhile.

Aided by having a great guide today.

Shuttles were provided into Tangier which many took advantage of, as well as some private tours.

Lisbon tomorrow, but arrival isn’t till noon (as per schedule).

It will make for a nice long and picturesque sail in however.

Coral Princess docked in Lisbon, Portugal today:

Yep,

Arrived about an hour early at 11am, which provided a lovely arrival up the river.

Always a pleasure that.

A DIY wander around today.

Up & down, round & round, then some more up & down….just in case.

The motto for the day…

…..  if you don’t know where you are going, you can’t get lost.

The main mission was ensuring you didn’t get run over whilst taking the duty photos of the trams trundling up Alfama.

Two sea days before Holyhead on Thursday.

@Tranquility Base a quick question if you don't mind. Are onboard accounts charged to your credit card at the end of each sector or at the end of the full cruise?

On the last World Cruise Gaznjo did, someone asked them the same question and I think they said they got charged at the end of each sector.

If none of the World Cruise see this post before Saturday, I will ask them when I hopefully meet up with a couple of them on Saturday.

Thanks. I thought I recalled something like that from a past world cruise post but want to make sure. I'm trying to do some budgeting for next year.

I read cash & debit cards no charge they add 1+% for credit cards   Can’t find where I saw that.

It's mentioned under the Payments section of a cruise booking if you select to pay by credit card..

"If payment is made by credit card, you will be subject to an additional charge dependent on the card type. Visa and MasterCard will be 1.1%, American Express 2.75%, Diner's Club 2.3%, PayPal will be 1%. Debit cards incur no fees."

I suppose you could always zero out your account every week/fortnight or so if on a very long voyage to control the size of each payment 'shock'.

I'm not worried about payment "shock", just trying to work out which financial year the transaction payments will fall into.

Unfortunately it's not a good idea to attach a debit card to your onboard account unless you are prepared to have twice the expected expenditure in funds, due to the annoying holds they put on the cards. We usually use a credit card with a very decent credit limit which means those holds don't affect us but we have to "eat" the blasted credit card surcharge of 1.1%.

Coral Princess docked in Holyhead, Wales today:

Yep,

A very good tour today with an excellent guide.

Caernarfon and Snowdonia with 3 stops in that area.

Very nice scenic drive between stops.

A lovely part of Wales.

Lucky with the weather as we had sun, whereas apparently the previous ship 2 days ago had rain all day.

Belfast tomorrow, a DIY day for us.
