Queen Elizabeth II gardens

Celebrity will not permit people over 70 years old on the Queen Elizabeth II garden tour. Can anyone think why 70 +’s are not permitted to tour. Celebrity blames it on the tour company. Can anyone recommend other ways to tour the gardens?

While it's very pretty the majority of the paths and walkways are sand and/or gravel and uneven. I'm sure the tour company wants to keep a steady pace for everyone and they can't guarantee that with folks that might require more assistance over uneven walkways. I'm inclined to believe Celebrity is telling the truth here. 

 

There is nothing that would prohibit you from doing it on your own.

We did not come across any places there that would be uneven paths or hard to maneuver and I have a "bum" leg with several surgeries. There's just a lot of walking involved if you want to see everything. Maybe that's why? But it's super easy to do.

Celebrity just canceled our excursion to the gardens on a Jan 2024 cruise.

 

Not sure why.

For what date?  There is a holiday in January, maybe the park is closed?

It was January 26.  I don't think it is a holiday.

The holiday is January 22, so I guess not.  That’s weird that they’d cancel that far out unless there’s some lack of availability for some other reason.  You can get there by rental car, but I’d want to confirm with the gardens first that they are definitely open that day.
