Problems with the switchboard or the website for solo bookings?

When I was on the Emerald Princess I was unable to book a cruise (solo here) with ONE Network but they wanted to sell me an undetermined week for $3300. I'm not stupid. Why would I fork over $3300 if I can't get a cruise? If Princess / CCL is no longer interested in my travel $$s where do I go?? Does any other line (other than MSC) let us transfer our status?

MSC and Virgin both status match. Virgin have  cabins for solo travellers, and not just inside ones. It’s a subject I’m researching at the moment, being a bit disenchanted with Princess’ lack of care for solos; for example, the new sphere class ships still don’t have solo accommodation so, once again, we get hammered for under-occupancy

Celebrity don’t status match but the newest Edge class ships have solo accommodation

It’s not just Princess.  In fact, I haven’t researched a single on Princess.  But back in Feb/March I was having a small window where I could take a short cruise.  As a solo trying to book late, I couldn’t get a cabin as a solo in any category on Carnival, Celebrity, or MSC.  So, I stayed home.  But booking a little farther ahead I was able to book a B2B 4/3 on MSC from Port Canaveral in August.   And even shorter time I got a cabin on Celebrity Summit to Bermuda.  I haven’t looked further out…I’m getting on in years and as someone else said, lately I don’t even buy green bananas…. I guess I was lucky??  Just yesterday I booked a mini-suite as a solo traveler for an October cruise out of L.A. on the Majestic Princess.

Same here. Just last week I booked a regular balcony on Majestic (October South Pacific crossing) as a solo for $0 supplement!

Based on others experience in this thread I got very lucky indeed.

Have had no trouble booking solo cabins on PCL.  Just off Diamond Princess Japan - booked single balcony cabin just 6 weeks ago and met several other solo travellers on the cruise. Also have a New Zealand cruise booked  solo for Jan 24  in an obstructed balcony cabin.  And many other solo options available for other cruises I have looked at.
