Yes we could just turn up and were seated straight away. I got the impression it had only just started on our cruise and we did go at 6 and 6.15 the days we went there. Normally we’d go 6.30-7pm. We were told we’d get a buzzer if it was busy.

As it was a short cruise to Amsterdam we were in port overnight one night and til midnight the next night so I expect a lot of people were ashore.

Are, yes early on you can usually just walk straight in anyway, it is after about 6.30 or perhaps a bit later that the app really comes into its own.  Even it it does not work in the cabin, you could still sit a bar outside or in the observation lounge and use it from there, joining the queue when you want to do so, rather than having to hang around near the MDR with a buzzer.

Each to their own though.

Afternoon, we’ve just been on Ventura for four nights to Amsterdam, we had a lovely time.

Highlights -

No using the app now for Freedom dining, just show up like ‘old times ’

Lovely meal in the Epicurean, big excitement as my Crepe Suzette was cooked at the table 😊 It was delicious!

The weather was fab, sunny and at times too hot 😆

We went to the ADam tower for a fantastic view, also had a breeze up the top! We went on a free ferry just behind the station. I only knew about this as I’d seen it on YouTube! Unfortunately Ventura was moored so it’s aft was towards us!

We went to our first ever silent disco, what a laugh! Great fun and John, who hardly ever dances was dancing away!

Any questions just ask.

We were docked just along the way from the station, 10 minutes walk roughly.
The ferries were going back and forth constantly. It was about a five minute ride across the river.new went to the Amsterdam Tower, fabulous views from the top and with a nice breeze as it was a very hot day!

The ferry was just behind the station, as I knew what it looked like from You Tube it was easy to spot!

Here are pictures of the ferry and the Tower.
