Comp cruise offers

I received a free carnival cruise via the Caesar’s status match hack. Took the cruise (balcony room on 12 night Europe itinerary) and gambled enough (too much) to receive. an offer prior to disembarkation for a free ocean view with free drinks everywhere. Woot!

The options are somewhat limited and include itineraries for this year only. My job (teacher) gives me frequency breaks but otherwise is inflexible in terms of time off. The offer will expire soon.

My question. If I do NOT book, will they continue to send me offers and perhaps, at a higher category room? Not sure if I should hold out or not. There is only one sailing with my current offer that fits with my schedule and preferences. If I was confident I’d receive more offers, I’d wait. Otherwise, I’ll book it. Need advice!

Thanks!

  • Casadefox.az changed the title to Comp cruise offers

no experience with carnival, but LOTS of experience with casinos, both land-based and at sea.

they will likely reissue your offer and keep offers coming for 12 - 18 months.

my sense is they will not offer a higher cabin category, but will keep your play-based offer the same until you take another cruise, after which it could be adjusted up or down.

This is my experience and mine only. Went on Carnival and received pretty good offers.  They were good for up to three cruises. I would think that you will have some similar if not SLIGHTLY better offers under the "todays deals" section of your carnival login than what they offered. They will have booking dates a year or so out and you will probably have a month or two to book.  Check that todays deals section before making a decision.  A year later without sailing, my offers have begun to drop some but are still half decent

So how much play is required to start receiving comped cruises?

On NCL I reached ~9,000 points this year (so Pearl) and the best offer they had when I called CAS was 20% off.  After adding their admin fee of $20/person/day, and recognizing I will not reiceive the pre-paid DSC and frequent flyer miles my travel agent gives, I think using a 20% off CAS offer would be a net loss for me.

Sounds like you got enough points to get a better offer than you received. Casino comps are a mystery and differ by cruise line. Google “Chill Cruiser” for an in depth look into Princess. My preference is to gamble and have a good time and not chase comps. If I get reasonable offers for my play then I stay loyal to that cruise line. Better luck!

I've never personally cruised on the CAS discount, but I've read that you don't pay the admin fee for discounted cruises.  Only comped cruises.  Once again, I don't know first hand if this is true or not.  also, seems like they should offer you better offers.  Oh well
