Best PV beach w/ calm waters?

Hello. Visiting PV in September. Would like to since we are in port nearly 12 hours, we'd like some beach time and then spend some time at the Malecon.

Beach wise, I don't want crashing/rough waves. Any beach recommendations, maybe between the cruise terminal and the Malecon?

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions

The best beach with calm waters are either in  Nuevo Vallarta, far north of Puerto Vallarta or in Mismaloya south of Puerto Vallarta. In both cases you need a cab to get there. However there is hardly any public beach that rents out chairs etc. Some hotels in  Nuevo give out daypasses.

Mismaloya is more or less the same.

Playa Palmares, a bit north of Mismaloya has a nice beach and often you can rent chairs and umbrellas there. Again a cab is needed to get there.

Beaches in general in Vallarta can have rough waves, which is of course not always happening. Playa los Muertes near the pier in centre has some nice restaurants, El Dorado and La Palapa offer beachclub facilities for a daily rate.
