We are going to Iceland shortly, our flight gets in about 9:00 am . Does Viking have any arrangements for people arriving early.  Our friends get in shortly after 6:00 am. Thanks for any information.

Like JDincalif said.  Last August we flew in the day of the cruise and Viking took us to a restaurant for breakfast but others on later trips were taken to a hotel conference room where they had coffee and snacks.  We were then taken to the ship around 10 am.

As everyone has said, those who made their flights through Viking (or are eligible to buy Viking transfers) and are arriving on the very early morning flights are well taken care of.

As you are arriving later in the morning, by the time you clear passport control and find your luggage and make your way to the exit where Viking reps wait to greet (if applicable), it should be time to head directly to the ship. Viking will start boarding folks just as soon as the ship is clear of departing guests.

FWIW, on July 19, 2023, our friends who arrived KEF at 6:30 am were taken to Harpa where there was a continental breakfast.  They left there about 10 am and were onboard by 11.  Another friend who landed at 9 or so, was taken directly to the ship and arrived about 11.

If you book your own flights it is very convenient to have Viking meet you upon arrival.

Make sure you complete and send in the "Request for Transfer" form.  You can choose only arrival transfer or departure transfer.

We have found that Viking transfers pricing is in line with other methods of transfers.

With a Viking arrival transfer it is very nice to be met at an early arrival and have a relaxing place to wait to go to the ship.If you book your own arrival transfer, you will be sitting in the cruise terminal until Viking begins the boarding process.

Enjoy your cruise

Note, to do this, you must be landing at the airport on Day 1 of the cruise or pre-cruise package and/or taking off from the airport on the last day of the cruise or post-cruise package, as these are the only days that Viking operates transfers.

If flights arrive or depart at any other time, you are ineligible for Viking transfers.

Thanks for this insight. I knew about the 1st day of the cruise and day after.  These little tips are so helpful.

I just got back from the Eastern Seaboard this week and used so many tips I learned. The French and Italian cooking classes for example. So many people I met along the way asked how I knew about them.

Thank you to all the contributors to Cruise Critic.
