We are doing a round trip Seattle to Seattle Hawaii cruise, with the last port of call being Victoria, BC.  We are from Vancouver Island so would like to disembark in Victoria rather than Seattle, so that we don’t have to fly back to the island from Seattle.  Has anyone done this, if so, did you have to get special permission?

While we personally have not disembarked in Victoria, there have been others on the forum who have done so. Yes, you must make arrangements with the cruise line in advance but it is allowed.

The caveat is that there are times when it hasn't been possible for the ship to dock in Victoria. It actually happened to us once. So, if you do want to disembark early, have a backup plan just in case the port is missed.

We did a Hawaiian cruise from Vancouver in April and our last port before we returned to Vancouver  was Victoria.  Several people who lived on Vancouver island mentioned that they had asked if they could disembark in Victoria and were told no.  I think it was something to do with customs/immigration.
